I have been a tele/cicu RN for 5 years and am completely burt. I am interested in changing specialties to plastic/reconstruction nursing. Any suggstions about education, certifications, nursing links. Thanks! - Mary

Do you mean in the OR or in a physician's office? If in the office, you will complete training by the staff there. Depending on if you will be the one doing any of the specialized procedures, then you will need addtional training for that. Best suggestion is to contact some of the plastic surgeons in your area.

I worked for a plastic surgeon in California. Great job! The hours are good and yes, many of the other nurses got work done free or cheap. Not many openings because nurses tend to stay. Check with some of the surgeons in your area. Many eye doctors are now doing eye-lifts and minimal plastic procedures. :p
