Hi there! I'm not from the east coast, but I have a question for you. I've been considering a move to Charlottetown for a while now, and have been trying to find online job listings for the hospital in Charlottetown, or close to Charlottetown, but I haven't had any luck. Do you know where these hospitals are posting their jobs?

Hi Stacey, I'm an RN in Charlottetown, just came from the provincial website for postings, it's here...there are no sites for individual institutions, everything is located at the provincial page...hope that helps....

IslandtrainedRN, some of my classmates are out there, they seem to like it more than the hospitals we did clincals in...

I was just reading some of the replies to "Where are you from", and I noticed that there are a lot of maritimers and Newfies here.
I'm PEI born, raised and trained, but I'm planning a big move out to cowboy country (Calgary). Are there any Atlantic Canadian nurses here who are working out in Calgary?? I've heard it's a pretty fun city.

Hi I am not from east coast but I work as an RN in Calgary. It is a very poular city and we need a lot of nurses. My advice to you is to go di rectly to any hospital and speak to managers before you go to a HR. You would be so welcome @RGH,Unit 82. Best of luck. :nurse:

I actually have a question...I check out postings from various provinces and facilities, and they usually specify "Current registration with....." meaning licensed to practice with the appropriate nursing association...this sounds like a stupid question now that I think about it, but, do you think these postings are open to applicants from outside the respective province....I would be eligible for licensure in a given province, but that's not the same as currently licensed....know what I mean?.... :confused:

Just apply anyway. Make sure you tell them where you are registered to practice now in your cover letter, and then if they show an interest, start the registration process. You don't need to be registered in that province to apply for a job, but you have to be registered before you can start working. I just went through that whole process for a job in Alberta. I've got the job, but I have to wait until I'm registered with CARNA before I can start.
