I am considering Pima Medical for their nursing program due to the wait list. I am going to an info seminar on Dec 10th. Has anyone graduated from their? Can anyone give me any feedback on their program as far as the cost, class schedule, or their program in general. Thanks.question.png

Its expensive. Its time consuming, its demanding and will push you to the brink... you will get out of it exactly what you put into it. They know what they are doing.... but its hard... a lot of work. Its fast paced. They will help you as much as you need and as long as it takes. They are interested in your sucess and ability to pass the NCLEX.... they are invested in you.... your biggest nightmare and greatest Ally.....

You will get a good education, and you will jump through hoops.... its sorta like mixing shool and military all in one!!

Thanks for the feedback. Did you attend school there? Did you like the program? Is it worth the money?

I did go there! I loved certain aspects of the program, I learned a TON, the education was dead on for the most part. Again, it is hard, and you will get out of it what you put into it. Some days, some of it was "hard to swallow" as far as the "hoops" but in the end, the education was there for the taking, and I learned everything I needed to obtain my license. The money, well most of it can be paid for through student loans... as for is it worth the 40k... well... time is money... if the CC has a huge wait list and PMI does not... well... time is money.. you could have your degree 2 years sooner, and be making MORE than the tuition costs during those 2 years... so that is a personal question.... time is money!!

Can you tell me about the class schedule? Wondering if I am to work at all even part time?

When I went to Pima to learn about the RN program they told me I had to become an MA first. Is that true?

No WAY! I went to the orientation- you have to have your prereqs done which is Communications 101 your A&P, and Psych 101.

then you have to pass their entrance exams which are easy to do- then they sign you up to take the Hesi and do some interviews then you get offered a spot based on the points you earned on all of those- I mean its not EASY you have to be dedicated and really want it.

It is expensive but its a great school.

The thing is though is if it seems like you may not be able to get into the RN program right away they might try to get you to get into something else- stay true to what YOU want to do. MA is not RN!! They ARE a for Profit school- keep that in mind. Hopwever from what i have seen from the school they are excellent in their education.

I am signed up to take the Hessi the end of January for a spot in August in Tucson.

But i'm also still pondering Pima Community College instead because of the GREAT price difference!!!!

Is anyone currently in the RN program at PMI in Tucson? If so, can you tell me how it's going? Im considering stepping in to the program where they allow LPN's.
