Pierce College Spring 2014

Published

Hey everyone,

Has anyone heard from them for their acceptance or denial? I applied back in August and received an email back in September that I will be notified sometime next month. Its close to the end of October and still haven't heard anything.

Also if anyone wants to chime in on any experience with their program, please do.

Hi valjones! I got the Welcome Letter e-mail but I wasn't able to see any info on the service to use for the background check (unless I'm blind lol). Thanks for the info!

Yeah, that's what I did too when the e-mails started flooding my inbox. Likewise, I'm new to Pierce and I'm excited to meet everyone when orientation day comes :)

Where did you complete your pre-reqs? I finished mine at PCC. I actually live in Eagle Rock and I'm sure the commute to Woodland Hills is going to be a long one. Does anyone know where clinicals are taking place?

@ReaperX if you look at one of the attachments with the header "Go online to complete new student requirements", that's the one that has the Background/Drug testing info, along with all the prices for , membership to NSNA, uniform info, etc.

Hi !! I got accepted to pierce too. I sent my acceptance form thru email and received reply from the nursing office. But i did not receive any info email yet. I was planning to call them today but the office is closed until dec2. Can someone forward those info emails to me??? I'm so worried about if i incomplete those steps before the program begins. My email is elissaskim@ gmail.com

Congrats guys! I'm finishing up my first semester at Pierce right now. The clinical sites are West Hills, Burbank, Tarzana, and Mission Hills.

My advice is to enjoy your freedom while you still have it haha. It's a ton of work and can be overwhelming at times, but as long as you all stick together and support each other you will be fine. Also, there is an impossible amount of reading, so don't be afraid to bug the soon to be 2nd semester students (myself) to figure out what you should focus on.

Thanks for the info. Do we get to pick our clinical sites or are they randomly assigned to us? I'm very excited to start the program, but nervous all at the same time. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

Unfortunately you don't get to pick where you go. I'm currently at St. Joseph's in Burbank, it's a far drive considering I live in chatsworth, but it's an amazing hospital. My advice as of right now is to enjoy yourself lol. Nursing school will consume your life and it will be a real struggle if you have to work at the same time.
