Published

Hey, I'm about to graduate in 3 months and am starting a job in the PICU in July. Any advice would be great, but looking for some specific PICU advice. Namely, what does the PICU staff look for and what makes a good PICU nurse. Thanks for the help.:twocents:

Welcome shaggyb2000. If you use the search feature, I know you'll find dozens of posts that will help with your query. I've ansered similar questions quite a few times and honestly can't remember what I've said to whom. Give it a try, and then when you have a bunch more questions come on back.

Thanks, will do.

your question was what do we look for in picu nurses.

i will tell you the same thing that i tell all my preceptees; don't come in acting as if you know everything, after 23 years i still learn every day!

:twocents:"the difference between a good nurse and a bad nurse is, a good nurse can say i don't know!"

i do it all of the time!

good luck!
