Phx Valley Hospital Growth

Friday's Republic had an article on new hosptal spending as a result of bond issues in the last vote. They say it's about $1 million/hospital bed.

-Sun Health will add 98 beds to the Del Web Memorial Hospital in Sun City.

-John C. Lincoln will do a $40 million expansion in the north Phx location.

-Scottsdale Healthcare will build a 120 bed hospital in No. Scottsdale in 2007.

-Banner Health will open a 165 bed hospital in Gilbert in Fall 2007.

There should be plenty of nursing oppportunities in the valley!

I should also add, that doesn't include the newly planned downtown Phoenix medical school/biomed research consortium.

And hmmm, I've never had a problem with traffic in Phx. I know it's real bad at times, I guess it just doesn't bother me or I luck out and avoid it.

I spend all my breaks there ..... summer break, winter break, spring break, Thanksgiving ..... I'm there for ohh ...... 5 months out of the year? Something like that. You can find ways to avoid the traffic.

Are you already working at a valley hospital, Kabin? I'm hoping that I can find a new grad program right away and start working. Been in touch with a recruiter from Banner, but they don't offer a new grad program in the area I'm interested in. Hopefully I won't have much trouble, and hearing things like in your original post gives me hope! :)

I wish I could help you out with the job search, but right now I'm out of the system as I'm starting an accelerated BSN program in the fall. From what I hear the hospitals are hurting for nurses, so I'll bet once you're here the opportunities will be more obvious. Sure wish I had you're problem. :)

I recently deleted a bonus offered from a facility there in Phx from my email. I am sorry but I do not remember the name of the facility. It should not be too difficult to find out which facilities are offereing bonus. This one was for 8,000.00. :balloons:
