PHSC Nursing Hopefuls - Fall 2016

Published

Hey, PHSC students!

When I applied for both the generic RN and LPN program (I got into LPN), we had an interactive forum here and it really helped ease some tension and answer some questions. It also helped show where we stood amongst our peers. The next post on this forum will show the rankings as well as the 'formula' for admission. Happy posting.

The Point of This Forum

1) Which program you're applying for (LPN, RN, LPN-RN bridge).

2) Post your stats; prerequisite GPA, TEAS score, residency (Hernando/Pasco/etc.)

3) Have fun and meet potential peers.

Fall applications are due May 30th and the board will meet around mid-June. Letters will be sent out early in July.

This is a good site to check your PHSC prerequisite GPA since it doesn't include a v-- plus or minus system. --v

I agree. I didn't realize how competative this was!! I don't have a plan B if I don't get in. I DID check out other schols like Galen and Rassmussen and was accepted to Galen, but turned it down due to the crazy tuition cost and the 3 hr round trip drive from where I live. So now I wait, wait, wait with the rest. Does anyone know when we'll find out and how long from that time before classes start?

Last year it was mid July when we found out if I remember correctly.

I wish they didn't wait until mid to end of July to let us know. Doesn't school start the end of August? If I'm accepted I will have to apply for financial aid, get my school and work schedule figured out etc... All in 4 to 6 weeks.

I received my call letting me know I was accepted Thursday June 30 for the RN bridge program.

I'm in ... LPN Bridge... They called at like 9pm on June 30th, then sent me an email on the 5th saying I need to formally accept by the 7th. Then on July 8th I got another letter saying I was accepted and needed to respond by the end of the month or disregard if already submitted.

I feel like I might get declined after seeing everyone else's scores. .... guess I might be laying Rasmussen 20k

Ugh.
