PHSC Fall 2016 Hopefuls

Published

Hi all!! I'm starting this new thread in hopes of finding some returning or new applicants to PHSCs Fall 2016 RN orogram! This will be my 4th time applying 3rd in a row..... I'm planning on retaking my Teas to try for a better composite score.. will be applying to all available campuses for the RN transition program! :-)

july 7th

That's really soon!

I left a message for Heather but I am assuming she will be out until the 5th.

Oh my gosh! That soon! I hope they call LPN applicants first thing Tuesday or I'll barely have time to accept if I do get offered a seat.

you can send your acceptance electronically if that helps ease your concern. I am going to do both but only because I am on campus on Wednesday and would feel better handing it in, lol.

I'm calling the school when they open on Tuesday. Do you think I wasn't accepted for sure? Or is there a chance that they may not be done? I'm hoping they gave up on trying to finish, seeing how one of my old classmates was called at 2140.

Thanks for the info. I will likely drop it off as well, but the entire thing won't seem real to me until I actually receive the letter.

OMG my nerves are killing I emailed connie kersy again but it still sent me an out of office reply. I dont think she ever turned that message off ( she probably doesnt want all the emails anyway.) I did not get a call I was hoping not to many transistion students applied. I am going to call tuesday but it seems so far away!!!! if i dont get in i guess im going to GALEN, which is probably going to kill me financialy!

I just...

Ugh...

You're literally better off financially taking another semester to boost your GPA and TEAS and/or apply for the spring start (which is generally easier to get in to anyway) than you are just throwing your hands up and saying "yes Galen, Jersey, UMA, or whatever other for profit business, please financially cripple me for years so I can get this done one semester sooner."

It is such a terrible way to go - and students tend to not like the schools and programs because all those places want is more money instead of helping students.

Bump up your TEAS score or GPA over the next couple of months and then reapply to PHSC, Polk in Lakeland, and SCF in Sarasota.

Even WITH the drive to Lakeland or Sarasota if that's what you have to do, you're still MUCH better off than giving your first born to Galen.

And if you are considering Galen as an option, please don't try to say you can't afford gas to Lakeland or Sarasota - because you could actually buy a car with amazing gas mileage, pay the state college tuition, and STILL be cheaper than Galen.

Has anyone who recived a call been denied a seat? Just been accepted or asked to deny one seat and accept another? I'm hoping maybe they only got partially through all the applicants and will pick up Tuesday. Or I can just be looking for my denial letter in the mail soon.

I applied to, and was accepted to Galen. But, I did not decide to go there. It's about 20K per year. I live in the Dade City area and the drive was literally 1 1/2 hours each way with traffic. 3 hours a day driving and the super high cost are what put them at the bottom of my list, even though they're a good school. I feel you with the nerves they do seem to drag this out. I would think it would be best if they had this all ironed out before the end of June. Hang in there!!

I think they know that many people who apply have applied to multiple colleges. On top of that, many people who apply to their program apply to multiple PHSC campuses.

I really think the phone calls were probably a first step towards weeding out people who have decided to go elsewhere or to make them pick a campus.

Just guessing - but I would imagine within the next week all of the official notices (which seem to be coming by email) will be sent out.

The phone calls are probably not going to everyone - and are their way of being able to send as many acceptance letters as possible to people who will actually say yes.

I know it's stressful. But y'all need to take a breath and get a drink (coffee, beer, wine, whatever...). This will probably play out within the next week.

And calling them will not help - it will just tie up the people who actually need to be working to get this done.

hey karol ann, do you know of any other transistion students that got in?

I think everything will be fine. They have probably not called everyone yet. I have a friend who has'nt gotten a call yet.
