I think some people have great ways to phrase questions that are uncomfortable for patients. What are some ways you ask patients about if they are incontinent of bowel or bladder?

Thanks!

On assessment: Basic, straight forward questions.

On Rounds: "Are you clean and dry? Well, let's just check."

Reminds me of a joke: Three old dudes sitting around talking. First old dude says, "I awake at 7am, get out of bed, but can't pee until 9am!" Second old dude says, "I awake at 7am, get out of bed, and can't poop until 9am!" Third old dude says, "I awake at 7am, and can immediately pee like a racehorse and poop like a goose! Problem is, I don't get out of bed until 9am!"

Ba-boom!

"Do you need any assistance in going to the restroom". Works-well!
