Phone pre-interview

Nurses Career Support

About 2 weeks ago I got a phone call from someone at a local hospital saying that she wanted to do a screening over the phone for a cna position. She asked me if I was certified and I told her no and she said that was ok and that there was a 4 week program I could take and that someone would be calling me soon about it. She also said they would be calling for interviews the next week, which was last week, and I haven't gotten a phone call for an interview or about the 4 week program. I really want this job but I don't know what I should do. I'm thinking of calling the lady that called me first but I don't know if she's in charge of the interviewing or what. And if I do call, what do I say? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would just call and tell them that they had made contact with you about the position/classes and you were checking to see if they had made any decisions regarding your application.

A good phrase I learned in the business world was, "I'm just calling to touch base with you about the position". Then you can add, "I'm very interested in the position, and I would be happy to arrange a phone interview time with you." All they can do is say no.

Good luck,
