I wasn't going to do this, but oh well, maybe it will make some part of my brain feel better or what not. Anyway
Has anyone applied or been apcepted to Phillips Beth Isreal School of Nursing in New York? I know of one other person who applied i think, but not sure if anyone else that hangs out here did.
It would be nice to start a support thread or something, and hopefully this won't get burried in cyber space.

Here's the link for the books that I ordered from Amazon. I believe all of the information matches up:...
Textbook of Med-Surg (recommended):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0781759781
...
They changed the med-surg book? I guess that means none of us can sell ours. Oh well, I wasn't really planning on it anyway, I like having the reference around.
Make sure you do buy both volumes of the Brunner and Suddarth book, the link is just for volume 1.
Including the PDA programs that is definitely more books than we were required to buy!
Also, do you know when the 25% off discount at Skyscape expires and if there is a code to get the discount? (pm me if there is)
thanks!

For the pda products I bought everything through skyscape.com. I'm not taking any general ed. classes except spanish, which they haven't posted the books for yet, but I'm Amazon would probably have those as well.
Hey I also bought the same books but my peer advisor went through the booklist with me yesterday and told me what is necessary and what is not. She said:
A nursing process approach for PDA - not needed
But the TEXT version of the Nursing Diagnosis Handbook
Applying Nursing process - not needed
Stedman's dictinary- not needed can get everything off google
Essentials of Nursing Leadership and Management- not needed
Get the recommended study guide and the Rnotes (PDA version)
So how was orientation for everyone? Who else is excited to get their little nurse kits tomorrow.
I thought it ok, a little out-drawn. I was with the evening students so I figure that is why I didn't see you. They left us in the room for almost an hour, I guess they forgot about us. Anyway, I'm sorry that I will not get my nursing kit today since I can't be there. But I did let Ms. Gallo know, since I couldn't find Ms. Rubenstein. Please let me know if I missed anything else important today. Well I am definitely getting nervous and anxious at the same time my heart is :redbeathe, can't wait for the first day of classes.
I also faxed in my uniform order, but no one seems to have gotten there uniform as yet, even the people who ordered at the fitting. So I am not worrying about that anymore since we only need it for clinicals and that is like 2 or 3 weeks into the semester.
Oh they charged us in our Nursing Lab fee for a kit that contains certain things needed for lab, for example I believe the stethoscope is in it. She showed us a small navy blue duffel bag, but she didn't go thru what was included. Today they will find out.
Wow I wish I was in your shoes right now down the home stretch. What are your plans post graduation. THey went alot into the Pace program, etc. and also told us that maybe in 5 or so years all Associates nurses will have to get a Bachelors or higher.

Different publisher again, but I would think it would still be it. You can always ask them at orientation if the publisher really matters before making the trip out to the bookstore.
