Phillips Beth Israel 2013 Applicants

Published

In the process of putting together my application for PBISN 2013. Who else is applying? I'm curious to hear from current students and recent grads--what was your background? Your NLN scores/GPA? Thoughts on the program?

Good luck everyone!

nylady07 hi:)

I saw the schedule of the courses. Regarding Pharmacology, it is 3 credits course. So is it like 3 hours a week? (lecture) I am just a little bit confused, according to the schedule, it is three times a week, Mon, Tue, Th 9:00-12:00

I'm so excited to have found this thread! I wished I found this thread sooner because I pretty much went on this nerve wrecking journey alone. I only applied at PBISN I didn't apply anywhere else. I have been accepted to the evening program too, on the condition that I finish A&P 2 and Nutrion class by Dec 2013. So far so good, I will be able to complete everything as scheduled :D. I just got an email regarding uniform fittings sometime next week, but unfortunately I won't be be able to make it. Does anyone know how the evening program is structured? I read on the brochure that it's basically 3 nights a week. Thanks so much for your help.

hey all, I am new to this thread, wish I been following earlier as well. I got accepted to the fall traditional program! I do not really know much information about it. I call regularly to make sure I am not forgetting anything lol. I submitted scholarship work, and I know that the orientation is August 20th or 21st I believe, and was told that the Fall 2012 schedule will probably be exactly the same as this upcoming Fall. I wish I knew for a fact so I can have a good idea what I am getting into! Anyway, hope to meet with some of you soon. Congrats to all who made it in. This was my number #1 choice Associates program( I have a Bachelors in another subject). I am VERY excited

Sammyjo88 I also have a Bachelors and am going back for an Associates in the ATOP program. Rumor is Beth Israel is opening a BSN program soon so we can stay at PBISON for that too (hopefully). Best of luck!

I also have a Bachelors and am going back - in ATOP too....can't wait!!

I can't make uniform fittings either....hope i order them correctly.

I really hope you are right and they open a BSN program!!! I haven't heard anything but it makes sense that they would open something...

Hi Amarem101,

I am excited! I am in the evening program as well! It's very small so I m sure we will def meet! Congrats! You took a big chance for only applying to one school! And yes I am unsure about the program as well i think classes start 5 and after....I m not sure about clinical times tho... :/

wow i would love if that were true..they been around for so long that it honestly dont sound impossible..but either way i know first hand how hard it is to get into nursing school (i applied to a few Accelerated BSN and regular bsn last yr, got rejected, so took sum classes over n applied to beth israel)...associates or bachelors im just honestly happy to be in..especially since their program is ranked so highly. being that we already have bachelors getting a BSN shouldn't be a hassle. positive thinking :) , Btw im VERYYYY excited!! lol hope to meet with you all soon

@ pickychic4eva,

I hope to meet you soon too. Although from the looks of it the next time I will be at school will be sometime November (Evening Program orientation). I have so many questions LOL! How small is the evening program do you know? , I am wondering about the health physical, , how does the uniform look like? etc. The school is very good at sending email notifications . I have not heard of anything for the evening students yet. Im assuming they are taking care of the needs of the incoming Fall students first.

The evening program ONLY accepts 30 students!!! and the rest of the program its 100. In total each semester they only accept 130, based on what my friend who's a student there told me. So we will be a tight group! LOL and I'm not sure what the uniforms are I forgot. I think its blue and white, but I don't know for the top or bottom. And yes you are right they aren't worried about us yet. I think when it's Sept they will prob email us more specifically. And insurance stuff I'm not sure about. But yeah I'm excited! I shall see you def for orientation! @Amarem

I know EXACTLY what you went thru!!!! I applied to several Accelerated BSN programs as well and go rejected or no response. And it was so depressing! Beth Israel is the only one that accepted me! It's sooooo hard and competitive to get into ANY nursing program now! I'm so blessed and lucky. I just wanted my foot in the door and after this I can just get my bsn in one year! I'm so happy. It's meant to be for me to go to this school I believe! Good luck to you!!! @sammyjo88

Hi,

We received a medical form that need to be filled. We also need to schedule an appointment for the physical examination. I saw on the school’s website, under tuition and fees, that the health service fee is $420. What if I am missing some vaccines? Are they going to bill me extra for getting them? Or is it a onetime fee and everything is included in it? thanks

@Horizon - I'm not positive but I don't think they would charge you extra for the needed vaccinations...I would hope they are part of the $420 because if it weren't everyone would go to their own doctor and use their insurance to pay for the vaccinations. I scheduled my appointment for the end of July so if I hear anything I'll let you know :)
