Philippine RN no exp wants to study Nursing in Australia

Published

Hi! As my title says, im a Registered Nurse in the Philippines without experience. I do not qualify for the bridging program for nurses so I would like to study Bachelor of Nursing in Australia. Would my zero work experience affect my eligibility to study?

Thank you in advance.

And why would you want to waste another 4 years of your life to study nursing again? Please don't.

Im a Filipino nurse in Australia. I graduated in 2007 gained some experience and migrated here with those experience. I have worked with several Filipino nurses who did the same path as you are doing and trust me, it is not worth it.

30,000 AUD per year? Go somewhere and work get the experience then come here.

I have filipino classmates who did the bridging program without any experience and was able to get a sponsorship here in Australia.

All I can say is the path you are are seeking is a waste of time and money.

Thank you for your reply!

It's an option since I do not really remember things in ph nursing anymore. I have yet to find a bridging program that does not require minimum work experience as a pre-requisite.. If there is one, i would most certainly prefer that over the Bachelor of Nursing course.

Hi Lorodz,

Good day!

I came across your response and I would just like to ask please if you know what is the bridging program your fellow Filipino classmates got, without them having the experience as a nurse and being able to get a sponsorship in Australia.

I myself is a PLE passer but did not get the chance to work as a nurse in the Philippines, I am currently in Abu Dhabi and wanted to go to Australia in Student Visa but I am confused as to what degree (undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational & etc.) should I enroll myself with since I do not have nurse experience in PI.

Hoping to hear from you. Sorry Sugarush1 for following your thread with my inquiry, I hope we will be able to fulfill our dreams and start our journey of becoming a great NURSE.

No prob! Anyway, you asked the same question i wanted to inquire too. What and where is that bridging program that doesnt need experience...

Hi Sugarush1,

I found this thread here in the forum, read the same it's helpful. Though, I'm still looking for the list of the accredited schools who are offering Bridging programs in Australia as the post was made last 2010. BY the way, do you have a specific place in Australia you wanted to enroll yourself in? Do you have relatives there?

If i may ask when do you plan to go there?

Thanks.

I have close family friends there but i do not have relatives there though. I am aiming to goto Melbourne asap. As soon as i get IELTS i would like to start applying. I want to be there before the year ends if possible. Though, i have yet to inquire the universities/schools directly regarding the bridging programs that rns with no experience can take.. What about you?

I don't have any "close" friends nor relatives there. But my officemate here in the middle East will be going to Sydney this year, she's just waiting for the reply of the University. I wanted to go to Sydney or if not in Victoria.

I am planning to take IELTS in April. And after completing the IELTS i would like to proceed with my application, same with you I am looking for a good school that offers Bridging programs since as you may see the tuition fees are SOO costly. hehehe

And wanted to be there soo badly before the year ends =(

Hope we can find the schools offering the bridging programs without the need for rn work experience.

Same! Lets do our best for our ielts. Then as we research for schools, can we update each other? I cant send pm here as im a new member. But if u can, let me know where else i could reach you. Thanks! :)

Sure!! =) I'll be more than happy to do that! At least I have a new found friend with the same scenario as mine. And yey! lets help each other out..

Here's my email address: [email protected]

Thanks.

Hi guys,

Any news on your search for a school in auz?

I am of thesame situation and I'm desperately looking for a pathway to be registered as a Nurse but because of lack of experience, I don't know what to do.
