Hi guys! Does anyone know about Philippine Management Inc. I was referred to that agency by a colleague. However, I want to know first if it's a genuine agency and it's worth trying. Any review from this agency would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Specializes in Acute Care. ER. Aged Care/LTC. Psyche.
Guys, how about those RN's who will go to Australia thru a student visa and will take a course of Aged Care III, what is your insight/s?

Thanks.

Useless and expensive. Why would an RN take up an Aged Care certificate course?

Because that is the easiest way to go to australia? I think

and the hope that some miracle after praying hard will grant RN status a job and all will be well, after spending much more than any nurse spends getting RN status and still not being allowed to work after said certificate and have to return home as there are NO working visa's for aged care workers, there are enough locals for the job.

Then realisation sets in, so they enrol in another course spend even more money on the course and living expenses and so it goes on.....do they realise how expensive it is to live here?

Easiest way? uhm maybe. But that ends with it, being easy to get in. STAYING IN is another question. What happens after the certificate course? You'll have no job, no sponsorship, because Aged Care worker is not classified and eligible for any work or immigrant visa sponsorship.

Think again. The easiest way is not always the best.

ceridwyn thank you for the warnings but you are too discouraging :( I hope more australia residents can post their opinions or perceptions so we can have a better view of what life really is for a Filipino Nurse/Worker in Australia as of 2014. I'll browse more threads. :D

No, I'd say Ceridwyn is not too discouraging. The reality around the world is that there are no native labour shortages. The lack of nurses in the US, Canada, Australasia is a myth. Pure and simple. There are reasons that jobs in these nations go unfilled, poor working conditions, lousy wages, undesireable location.

Prayer is good but it will not get you a job. Having connections due to an Auntie/Uncle/family friend don't work in these nations in unionized labour markets.

It is incredibly naïve to think that governments will leave loopholes open to be exploited by "international recruiters" who promises you futures at great financial costs.

You need to acknowledge that the world isn't crying out for Filipino nurses and if you do manage to make it whatever country it is that you desire you aren't going to have an easy experience. Wages may appear high but that's to cover the cost of living there. Many of the Filipinos who arrived at my hospital couldn't believe the cost of housing, food, or winter clothes needed, once the resettlement money stopped and they were obligated to repay their family money they had borrowed to get here. Several had their work permits cancelled when our employer found out they were moonlighting for cash under the table as cleaners or bar workers.

So browse more threads. The reality is harsh and not always what people want to hear/read.
