Who makes more and how about the job opportuities. I don't know what to go for when I graduate.

The person who said if money is really what matters then you should just get an MBA, is right. By the way to all the doctor's on this site that are posting negative comments, you must be really board with the physician sites. I did not read one negative comment bashing any physicians on this thread. Why do you feel the need to bash nurses? Yes, you do get paid quite a bit of money. However, is it really that difficult for you to grasp the idea that not everyone wants to be a doctor. We are not making excuses for not becoming one, or even lack the ability or determination. We simply lack the desire. Your rigorous schedule does not appeal to many of us. I work 3 days a week and spend the other four with my family. And, no I don't come home to a spouse gripping out bills. BTW did I mention that I became a nurse just because I wanted to feel like I was doing something good for others. I have an MBA. I made a hefty 6 figure income, and when I had kids I decided to move on. I made some very smart investments and have protected my income through retirement. I am in the position to do what I want to do as a profession without the concern of income being a factor. I am truly fortunate. Oh, did I mention that my husband is an engineer for apple. He makes pretty good money too. Just because you strut down the halls of the hospital with your big degree and big income does not give you the right to think you are better than anyone. Next time you look down your nose at a nurse you might want to reconsider the fact that you don't know the first thing about them or why they decided to be a nurse. Or better yet, why don't you reconsider the whole idea that you just "know" that you are better and more powerful. The truth is in the world of power and money, you are a small fry my friend. A small, small fry indeed. BTW why don't you try to take care of your patients without us.

At the end of the day, anyone can get married, have kids, family, etc... that stuff is easy.... It really takes a special, devoted person to get an MD/DO. Cut throat competitive undergrad. Med school, plus residency is enough to make anyone go crazy! Truly special people, who don't make excuses about why they work some mediocre job making a mediocre salary, only to come home and have to hear their spouse crying about bills and some kids screaming, will become doctors. Everyone can justify it anyway they want to make themselves feel better, but at the end of the day Dr > DNP/RN Phd/ >= CRNA > BSN > RN > LPN > CNA. The degree goes along with the sacrifice, commitment and perseverance required to achieve. The money comes second to the prestige.

I have a master (NP) in nursing, and although I am very proud of my academic achievements, that does not define who I am (I have a life). It is a sad state of affairs when someone base their self worth on a degree.
