I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!
I want to say that the extension was only for the paramedic to RN and paramedic cert programs.
theAFwife is correct! I just spoke to a nice lady in admission about that and she was nice enough to call the Dean of health sciences to confirm that the extension is ONLY applicable to Paramedic-RN program. Every other limited access program application deadlines stays the same.
Yay! I'm not losing my marbles! I would have figured they'd (at the very, very least) send out a mass e-mail notifying everyone or put it on Canvas/WISE/the PHSC Fbook page if the deadline had been bumped. The only notification I ever saw was for the paramedic program...they must not have had many applicants! Either that or there was some sort of hiccup along the way. Are any of you all paramedics? I always thought it would be so awesome...they are like real-life superheros! I was really back and forth between paramedic and RN for a while, actually!
Nothing in the mail today. Looks like my mailman is back to usual timing.
I'll be really annoyed if we dont get letters until the 2nd week of July. I mean, orientation will be only two weeks after that and there's a long list of things that need to be completed before hand.
Sure I could do some now, but I'm scared it will be bad juju and I wont get in.
I'm actually terrified of being turned down right now.
Yah the whole ambiguity of the situation is really stressing me out...and I'm generally not a very stress-prone person, which is saying something. My sister is coming to visit me all the way from South Dakota mid-July through the first few days of August, so it would be ducky if I was able to plan things out a bit better. I haven't seen her since January and won't be the happiest of campers if I find out I have to jump through a bunch of last-minute hoops because PHSC was too unorganized to give me proper notice for planning and thereby sacrifice what little time I have with her.
As I said before, I think I will call or even drive over to West campus to speak with the department head if I don't hear anything by "the end of June 2014," as stated in my letter.
