Pharmacology help

i am currently a nursing student. the problem with me and my whole class is that the teacher teaching this course dosen't know what they are doing. we can do the math homework and know what we are doing, but when the tests come, it is something completely different (and we have to follow the schools rounding rules, not what is the norm).:angryfire

so my question is, is there any websites where I can go and practice math calculations?

I appreaciate any help I can get.

Hmmmm...

I would think learning Pharmacology (you know... drugs and what they do) would be more important than how you round off the product of a series of multiplications.

BUT... unless they've made up some kind of "New Math" that exists only in a parallel universe, you ought to be able to do it. You'll probably find a lot better ways to figure doses in the future. (I did. When I got finished with organic chemistry, I realised most of the math worked great for pharmacology.)

Bottom line: You're a student and you gotta do what the instructors tell you. Learn their silly formulas and use them until you find something better.

I agree with you. I am just wondering if there are sites on the web with additional math problems for those of us? I am trying to do as much as I can to learn this subject

http://www.testandcalc.com/quiz/index.asp -- this is the section of www.testandcalc.com that you can access for free. it contains four quizzes on metric conversions, tablet dosage calculations, fluid dosage calculations, and iv drop rate calculations. this is a site sponsored by australian nurses, but the tests are still usable. the solution to each question is revealed when you click on the "show me the solution" button. there is also a short "help" section within each test area that is a short tutorial about the subject. each test also includes an online calculator.
