I am about to finish up my Pharm...actually finals are next week. My advice is study the drug classes..not just the drugs themselves. If you can figure out what each class is and does, THEN put the drugs into that class that you are studying, it makes it so much easier! As far as dosage calc......it's something that you just need to practice practice practice. Know your conversions, know your formulas. I promise if you keep practicing, it will just click for you!Stay with it and don't let frustration deter you.....good luck!anyone taking pharm this summer?i am,its online. jumped right into dosage calculations,i mean jumped in!!
Taking Pharma this summer online and we have to take a math dosage calculation test at the beginning of each Nursing semester. We have Pharmacology for Nursing Care 8th edition iand its 1500 pages long...HEAVY!!! We just started with general characteristics of pharmacology and the roleof the nurse and this week we get into the pharmacological managment of the OB neonate client which is awesome cause i rotate through OB starting this week for 3 weeks.....lots of work for 1 credit through im trying to finish a chart on 30 medications that has to be completed before we even step on the OB unit......yikes.....SERIOUS BUSINESS this nursing...lol good luck everyone
Don't round unless they specifically ask you to round. Almost 0.4 ml of medication might not seem like a lot but it can make a big difference. I start Pharm in the Fall but I have been a pharm tech for 13 years so I feel comfortable with it. Can't wait to start actually :)hello...can someone tell me if i am doing this correct...doc orders 45mg po stat. container is labeled 40mg/5ml...how many mls to give?dose desired.....45dose on hand....40/5ml45/40 x 51.125 x 5 =5.625... 6ml right?
