I have a Pharmacology test tomorrow over ANS. I can't seem to figure out when you should give Antiadrenergic VS. Cholenergic. Don't they basically do the same thing, which is decrease/block sympathtic activity?? Please help!!!!

Thanks!

Adrenergic blockers work by blocking either alpha or beta receptors and decrease sympathetic response (I.E decrease.....HR, BP, etc)

Anticholinergics block muscarinic or nicotinic receptors and block the parasympathetic response (I.E. decreases ...salivation, lacrimation, urination, defecation, GI motility, erection, they also increase HR by blocking cholinergic receptors)

They are not the same.
