Still no updates so far. I wanted to call the DNRD to ask about the status of my application but toxicity at my current ward assignment has been at its finest these past few days making me forget calling PGH to get updates haha. Well I had a couple of exchanges with non-UPM Nurse I applicants and an APCN trainee so far, one of them had been hired as an OR Nurse last June or July after waiting for about 2-3 years.

As for my case, I am already employed in a 300 bed tertiary ISO certified local government hospital near us and I probably wouldn't want to leave especially when re-assigned to a special area like ER or ICU in the near future unless I'd be offered an N2 position at PGH hehe.

How about you guys, how have things been going for you?

Hello guys, how do you update your status of application? Through phone call or personally at the office? Thank you!

Hi guys, I have just recently contacted the nursing service for a follow - up on my application. I had taken the exam last Dec. 2011 and passed the panel interview last July 2012. I was advised to wait for the schedule of my final interview. Unfortunately, they are already processing Aug 2012 and my application was not included since I have not met their required board rating which I think is unfair. I have waited for 3 years, (thank goodness i did not leave my work) only to find out this petty reason. Such a shame and a waste of time.

im just browsing over this site when i saw this thread, im a product of apcn program batch 33 and i can say that the program had help me a lot, i passed the panel interview last may 2014, but i wasn't able to wait for the call again so i decided to go out of the country, but nonetheless the values and learning i acquired during the program i still have it with me..to those who wants to join the program, make the most out of it, it will help you alot.

I have talked to someone who had been offered an OR Nurse position in PGH. If I remember it right, his board rating is below 80% so he was given a job order position. According to him, job order nurses like him would still receive 18k basic salary but no other allowances or benefits just like regular nurses. I feel bad that right until now, there are still hospitals that require certain board ratings when screening prospective applicants for employment. We couldn't blame them though since they have to keep up with a certain reputation or standard. Better luck next time chanchanx, you might be better off somewhere. Remember when God closes a door, He opens windows. Good luck!

Hi! Anyone who's already working as staff nurse in PGH here? Can you give me an idea on how long or how many months will we have to wait for the HR to call us for medical then deployment? I had my final interview last march and asked to wait for their call. I am currently employed in a secondary hospital so they told me not to pass resignation yet; wait for them for the go signal. Thank you!

If you're done with the final interview, aren't you supposed to have the papers for medical from the HR? Based on experience.

Hi, I also had my final interview but it was in April of this year. But up until now we have not been called yet by HR regarding the medical exam. Does anyone have an update regarding the current batch they are processing right now? its been about 3 months since my final interview, although they (Nursing Office) said that August (most likely) will be our deployment date. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Cedie, I'm excited for you. Have you tried calling the HR Department about that? When exactly did you have your panel interview? I had mine last October 2012.

I had mine in April 2015. Im still waiting for the HR's text as we were told during our final interview that it may take about 3 months for our deployment (tentatively, and hopefully!). Its about 3 months now, I have followed up with HR last week and they told me that we are the next batch to be texted, I remember her saying to keep my number active because the text that I am expecting from HR is nearing, I dont know how long will I wait for that "nearing" though. hehe. I just hope that before the year ends we will be deployed, @mikeru22 I hope you will be called too. *crossingfingers*

Hehe good for you Cedie! I don't feel like making a follow up about my application with PGH anymore. In November this year, it would have been my 2nd anniversary in the hospital I work in. Right now my focus is to look for opportunities abroad. Good luck Cedie and congratulations in advance on your new career!
