Petitioning for DCCC 2014 Nursing Program

Published

Peace Everyone! I am currently a Pre-Nursing student at Delaware County Community College. I take my TEAS test July 30. I've been studying on and off since last month. I am trying not to be nervous about it. I'm beyond determined to get in! Is there anyone else who has taken the TEAS yet? what scores are considered good enough to get in?? My GPA is fine, and I will be complete all my pre reqs by next Spring. What scores would be considered TEAS test "Waiting List" scores?

Hey everyone! My name is April and I am new to this thread. I got accepted into Marple's Evening/Weekend program. I am so excited to be given this opportunity and can't wait to start!! Anyone else in DCCC Evening Program? Best of luck to everyone here and congrats to all of you as well :)

Hey,

does anyone have the information for the nursing coordinator we have to submit our physicals to? I thought I had her name, but I can't find her info anywhere. I think her name is Mary Turchi? If anyone had her

name, e-mail, and location please let me know!

I don't sorry but I'm sure you can ask again on Friday at the orientation session.

Hey guys,

Does anyone have the info for the information sessions tonight? specifically where we meet for the 2:00pm one? I had my sheet on my desk and I think someone in my family may have thrown it out....I know our schedule is different than the 6 pm schedule.

Thanks,

Chelsea Harper

Hey Giannapaola!

Yes, section 51 :) It's so nice to hear of someone being in the same class. Everyone I meet is doing evening/weekend at CC.

How does the evening and weekend program work? Also do you have to be a DCC resident to apply and when does it start?

Hi! The evening weekend program is basically set up so you go to class for a few hours most evenings and then you have clinical on weekends. I believe the first semester clinical is every other Sat/Sun and then for the second, third, and fourth semesters the clinical is every Sat/Sun. I've heard it's pretty tough since most of your weekends are spent in clinical for 2 years, but if you need to work during the day it's definitely do-able. But it's also important to remember that missing clinical is often frowned upon by instructors, so if you have a lot of weddings or family events on weekends you're going to have to miss most of them. Just something to think about. As far as applying, I think you have to either be a Delaware county or Chester county resident but I am not 100% sure. The program starts usually the end of August or beginning of September each year.

Thank you for the information!
