Yep. Had to go for an eval because I was fired from my job(long story ) . Wasn't worried about uds, PEth, hair test at all. No drink in 16 months. PEth came back positive, and they are treating it like a relapse. I did nothing wrong. Trying to trust God and the process. Folks I'm here to tell you... The PEth is not an accurate test. I'll never trust it again.
I also recently had a false positive spot peth test. I had not drank alcohol in over a year and no accidental exposure. This is suppose to be a very accurate and reliable test so I can not figure out what happened. The only thing I can come up with is maybe the way they collected my blood was wrong. Or maybe the blood fermented. I'm at a loss and there is nothing I can do.

Maybe see if you can take a hair or nail test to counter the false positive? They go back further in time than the PEth's 3-4 weeks. Even if it's on your dime, if you come up with a negative, that's evidence in your favor to present at a hearing. We didn't think of this until about 9 months past the PEth test, so it was too late to disprove the PEth results.

As far as taking a polygraph test, that's an interesting idea we hadn't considered. Do they really hold any weight with the BRN? I thought they were considered pseudo-science...? Also, don't they go more on stress, so if you stress out taking it, isn't it possible to get a false positive? But thanks for the suggestion--will definitely check it out. In hindsight, would've been best to request a hair or nail test right after getting the positive peth result to disprove it. Not sure why the BRN monitors don't offer that option.
