I'm having problems with the etiology part of the P.E.S. format. I have been dinged for using signs/symptoms and medical diagnosis. Thanks for all of your help!:redpinkhe

Sorry, too old I guess to know what PES stands for, but I do know that nursing diagnoses exist. Remember, you have to plan what you CAN do, not just what you WILL do. You have to know what is your scope of practice and what requires medical delegation. I guess that is why you are being dinged. Evidently it is important to the "dinger" for you to know what you can do for the patient now, without waiting for the MD to call back.
