Pensacola State College RN program January 2014

Published

Has anyone been projected to start the RN program at PSC in January 2014? I just took the HESI entrance exam this month and received an email stating my candidacy and that my estimated start date will be January'14. I was really hoping to start in the fall'13 but I guess I waited too long to take the HESI  Also, any idea on when acceptance letters will go out?

Did you hear back from the nursing dept for January 2015 night & weekend? They were filling open seats yesterday :/.

Hello All!

My husband is in the military and just got orders to Pensacola and I wanted to apply to the Nursing Program at Pensacola State College to get my RN degree. I'm just finishing all my pre-requisites. Do you know all long the waiting list is? I've been reading horror stories about 2 year wait lists, is that true!?!? Thank you!!

The wait time varies but you must finish pre-req's and the HESI-A2 (and pass the HESI) before they will put you on the waiting list as a candidate. Once you become a candidate THAT is when the wait starts. I was told up to 18-24 month wait but received a call in October (pass the HESI-A2 in early May 2014) asking if I would like a seat for the upcoming (January 2015) semester for Nights & Weekends (only offered once a year). From what I hear the Day program is opened each semester. I am in my first week on my second semester now of the Nursing (RN) program.

Does the Lpn to RN program wear the same uniforms as the RN students? If so is anyone giving theirs away? I'm the smallest size that they make.

Hello, I know it has been years but I am in almost the exact situation that you were in. We live in Washington and are considering Pensacola for our next tour. However, before we go that route we want to be sure that there is a program that I can start for RN, I'm just about finished up my prerequisites but we won't move until next July or so. Did you get in on your first try, how was the process? Thank you in advance!
