Considering relocation to Pensacola. I am an RN have been working telemetry for 3 years. Any info on pay rates for hospital rates staff and per diem rates. What are nursing home home health or agency making? What are the shift differentials for eves and nights? Any other info on the area would be great. Can I expect to make $26/hr or is that an unreasonable figure?
Bumping it up. I f there is anyone in the Pensacola area who has any info on the area in general and doesn't feel good about posting salary info you can share any info you have on the area. Anyone could send me a private message if they don't want to post it on the public. Any info would be appreciated.

I live in the Pensacola area. Actually grew up here then moved to California for 12 years. Just moved back in 2009. You still have questions??? I'd be happy to help anyway I can :)
Would love to have you answer questions! I am excited someone responded!
Well ask away! If you want to pm me I will give you my email address :)
Are there jobs readily avaliable with experience ? I have 3 years on telemetry and ACLS certified. Right now am making $24.50 on day shift can I expect a similar pay and what are the shift differentials for eves or nights? Looking on the web sites of the hospitals in the area 3 12 hour shifts seem to be the norm are those with weekend rotation or can you get a shift with weekday only work in PA you work every other weekend there is no other option. Which hospital is the best to work for the main ones are Baptist ,Gulf Breeze, W FL Hospital and Santa Rosa are there others. Also the company I work for now has a hospital in Foley AL its N or S Baldwin Regional Medical Center I was thinking of transferring so I could walk right into a job is it a realistic commute and have you heard anything about that hospital.I would also be looking for an apartment for a year or two need pet friendly, I have 2 little dchshunds, with a pool I have a list of places that meet that criteria I gathered from online but would love to know which ones have a good or bad rep I have kids so I want to not be afraid of being broken into or too much craziness going on in the parking lots. More questions to come but I have to get ready for work!
Last time I looked there were jobs...lots of them. Foley is about 30 or 40 miles from Pensacola...not too bad I suppose. You could always go there first and then look for a new job once you're here. Where are you living now? As far as hourly pay, I think you can expect close to the same. The prison I work at starts around that. I have heard that the shift diff is somewhere around $4.00. I haven't worked nights so I don't know if that's accurate. I currently work M-F 0700-1600 in a prison. I work with the psychiatrist (when we have one). I took this job because it paid the most (but I don't have benefits).
You named the hospitals but left out Sacred Heart. I heard West Florida has the better pay but Baptist has the happiest employees. Santa Rosa is a tiny hospital here in Milton. I have heard good and bad things about it. I actually interviewed for and got an Infusion Center job at Baptist but turned it down because it would be a $10/hr pay cut. Can't afford that right now.
As far as apartments--I live in Milton. I have a two bedroom/one bath. It is pet friendly and is owned by a nice old man. The only bad thing about it is that there is no pool! I hate that!
When are you thinking of moving??
I am hoping to move sometime between Nov and March. Currently in PA. A girl I worked with up here moved to Pensacola and got a job at Sacred Heart very quickly her SO is stationed at the Navy base there. I have a list of apts that from my internet research seem to met my criteria pet friendly- pool washer -dryer connections. I have an 11 9 and 18 year old so ok areas for them. I would love to know which ones are safe and which ones sell crack in the parking lot Any info on any of these would be great!
