So who all in here is applying for St Margaret trying to get in for Feb start?

Already got application in?

Already heard back?

I only just got my application in this past week, so obviously haven't heard back?

If anyone has applied and heard back, how long did it take to hear?

Welcome and Congrats! I haven't really looked into where/when I can take CPR/AED class, though plan on probably doing it sometime in November or December.....but be careful or you might be wasting your time(and money if any money is involved). Letter said American Heart Association Heath Care Provider course......dont think the Red Cross course will count for anything.

Thank you for correcting me! I read the letter so fast that it says American heart association, but my mind registered the American Red cross! So do we have to take the BLS for health care providers? I looked up the classes on the website and it looks like they have 2 session scheduled. One on 10/16 and the other on 11/13. Of course they are both Saturdays and on days I have exams, great.

I FINALLYYY GOT MY LETTER TODAYYY AND I AM ACCEPTED FOR JUNE 2011 START AT ST MARGARET SCHOOL OF NURSING!!! :nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse: I AM SOOO EXCITED, I CRIED!!!!! LOL!

Well just so you know, the one guy I know that knows that he is in, still hadn't gotten his either. Hopefully you get it today. Also the one woman in my A&P class also got a letter for June when she applied for Feb also. Though she is considering leaving it go and going in June since she has both Micro and Nutrition to finish yet......she hasn't decided yet, and had called them to ask about it, but they hadn't returned her call.

I have Micro and Nutrition to finish as well!!! That is why I applied for June. I didn't want to take those together!!! oajkhrtakerjt...ohh I am so excited!! I can't wait until you start now to hear details!!

Probably....though I'm not sure of the specifications of that yet.....some schools you have to get a set/kit they have....some you are restricted to colors (black/navy/whatever), others you can get whatever. I already told my dad whichever way, they can get the stethoscope for my son to give to me.......hopefully they can be any color, then he can pick....but whichever way it ends up being, my son will enjoy giving me a stethoscope. But we should have the packet soon enough to know that info in time for christmas. I know thats what I will be asking everyone for for christmas that wants to get me something.....someone can get me nusing shoes...uniforms....books....any other supplies....lol. You wont have the packet yet, but we can let you know bout things like stethoscope.....just as long as they dont decide to change what they require between classes

CONGRATS FELLOW NURSING STUDENT!!!! That is awesome, don't worry I jumped up and down when I got mine, haha!:yeah:

Hi all! I just found out about this website and found this thread! I am also going to be in the Feb. 2011 class. I am also finishing up my pre reqs. at CCAC, but at the south campus. Is anyone planning on taking the CPR/AED class in Dec. through the red cross? I know they have one in Nov. too.

Way to go! Feb. can't come soon enough right?!

I'm not sure where you are looking at taking yours...but there are MANY places that do have the class. I just registered to take mine today at a place in the Pittsburgh Mills mall that holds a class every month. I

schedualled for Sat 11/13...runs from like 2-7. They did have one this month, monday 10/25 from 5-10pm, and december is monday 12/13, also 5-10pm.

My fun tonight.....wish we were videotaping it. My dad had family over for dinner, and they had a congratulations icecream cake for me getting into nursing school. Well my aunt and my son were plotting for my son to give me a present.....but apparently my son misunderstood my aunt when they were talking on the phone......guess he didn't understand the concept of a gag gift....and she had already wrapped it for him and just told him so he never saw it....guess he thought he was giving me a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff and stuff and he was SOOOOO excited to.....was hounding my aunt and dad ever since we cleaned up from dinner if it was time for desert yet because he wanted to give it to me. Well I opened it and it was was a fisherprice medical set :lol2: . Well we all laughed....except for my poor son....his reaction was priceless...which just made us all laugh more....but poor thing got so upset i think he almost cried. Thing with my son is he LOVES to give me things...and was so proud to give me my stethoscope, thats why he got so upset. Already knew he would love to give me my stethoscope....had planned with my dad from the start that if got into nursing school for spring that my son would be the one to give me my stethoscope for christmas....and pick out color too if we are allowed any color.

aweee!! How sweet!!! I bet his little heart was broken!!! That is cute! How old is your son?

How kind/color stethoscope are you going to get? (If we are allowed any color)

I am starting a CNA position soon. Training starts the first week of November. I bought my first set up scrubs! I was ssoo excited!! :-) Too bad we have to wear white at St. Mags. I would be fine with the navy blue! LOL!1

My son is 8. He is a sweetheart. Yeah he was heartbroken....but he will be able to give me my real one at christmas so will be excited bout it then.

I'm not sure what type yet.....waiting on the schools info in case they require a certain type....or recomend a certain type. If we are allowed to choose color, it will be whatever whatever my son picks for me....though i may give my dad a certain group of colors to pick from, or at least colors to absolutely not pick....lol.

Good luck on the CNA training. Cant wait til i have scrubs. Though do agree that navy would be better. Though the one thing with white, is can bleach them.
