1. i'm an immigrant nurse, i already have my permanent residency card (got it feb of this year)
recently i was terminated from the hospital i am subcontracted in (in california) because i expressed concerns about the safety of the staffing and the feelings of myself and my co-workers against a tyrant manager. anyways, they got me for insubordination.. for telling the nurse manager that "i do not like her, most of the staff do not like her, because she does not treat us with respect"..
now, my agency (based in philadelphia) is threatening me with breach of contract and with withdrawing their petition.
my question is, i've already got my permanent residency card, what petition can they withdraw?
and is there any way i can get out of my contract without paying outrageous fees.. he's telling me i'd have to pay them at least 30,000 dollars!!!!

Please clarify a few things for me.

Was it a hospital or LTC facility that you were at? Hospitals have ratio laws in CA, but the LTCs do not.

Next, if you already have the green card, it is yours, they cannot take it away. You fulfilled the requirements to get it. They can threaten about it, but there is nothing that they can do about that.
