Hey, just wanted to reply to your post. I actually went to the evening/weekend LPN program at Penn Valley and graduated December 2004. I loved the schedule and the professors. I think one of the professors I had is now teaching this RN program you referred to. Penn Valley was easy to work with and very helpful with everything.
However, I've heard there are several pre-requisites and possibly a long waiting list for this program so I would apply ASAP. The cost is great too!
Good luck!
thank you so much for the info!!! i have one more pre -req to go and that pysc 140. hopefully i will pass the net in the spring of 2007 while i/m waitng to get in i will take the few other general education classes that i need. i heard that the hobet was harder than the net is that true. congrats on your lpn license good luck in your nuring career....

I have taken both the Hobet and the NET and found them to be about equal. They test on the same types of things. Both were easy to study for and pass. Just get a study guide--the PV bookstore has them! ;0
got a letter from pv stating that there rn program is going under reconstruction. so they wont be given the net unitl summer of 2007 but all that applied previous by april 2006 can still take it this academic year.does this mean it is longer wait has any one heard please help

I got the letter too. I am not really sure what it means about the wait time. It did mention that the requirements for admission may change too. I have started in another program, so I asked to be taken off the list, but I will be hoping that it is good news for all of the students that are trying to get in. That letter mentioned that they have 3000 current applications!!! WOW! Hopefully by sending out this letter and getting people off of the list that are not longer interested, you will get in quickly:)
BEst of luck,
T
A couple things are happening at PV--first, they are egtting a new building in the next couple of years for nursing only! AND the have dropped enrollment in the day class to 60 instead of 65, and I think their enrollment in nights is up a bit. The introduce 10 LPN's to each Junior clas as well. So, they are changing some stuff an dhave a big waiting list right now (2 years). But PVCC also has the highest NCLEX pass rate in the state of MO. It is a great school and the program will kick your butt!

I got that same letter...but I graduated in 2004. The thought of having to go through nursing school again gave me the willies.:uhoh21:
I'm not surprised that the wait it so long. Lots of applicants, not enough teachers.
