Does anyone know if Excelsior will accept credits from Penn Foster. I just did Information Literacy for $70. Registered today and passed the course today with 78 average. It was not hard at all.

I took info lit thru Penn foster back in December and my counselor at EC said they are not going to be accepting credits from there for much longer. If I were you I would call your EC counselor and have them approve it ASAP. Good luck!

hello,

i just completed the penn foster class, and, since it is ace approved, asked to have it added to my ace transcript. i will have aleks beginning algebra, penn foster info lit, and straighterline eng101 all on that transcript, and will have it sent to excelsior. it is my understanding (and verified by a counselor in the admissions office) that they will accept ace accredited classes toward the general education component.

keep in mind that the number of ace credits will be limited in the associates bachelors and masters programs, for all students enrolled after october 1. (from their site): school of nursing general education credit limitation the school of nursing limits the acceptance of credit from the national college credit recommendation service (national ccrs) and the american council on education (ace) to 25% of the general education component towards the nursing degree requirements. no credit from these sources will be accepted for core requirements. acceptance of credit earned from military training, clep, and dantes examinations will not be limited.

this policy will affect all students enrolled on or after october 1, 2012.

a maximum of 7 credits from these sources can apply to the associate degrees in nursing programs and a maximum of 15 credits can apply to the bachelor of science in nursing degree and the rn to master of science in nursing.

I spoke to my adviser and she told me they will accept my Information Literacy course from PENNFOSTER yay!!!!! Now I will CLEP Life spam development it's $137 at the college I'm going to take it. I will check ALEKS for math after this all I have left are the Nursing courses. They accepted all my A&P courses including Micro. I am so excited and I just started this program 2 days ago.

Yes. I am a LPN and highly motivated the only obstacles I have in pursuing this are the ones I allow to be there which are NONE. I will keep posting updates to help others stay motivated.
