:uhoh3:hello im a registered nurse here in the philippines. my i140 was filed last july 2006 but up to now (may 21, 2007), i am not yet given the approval by the immigration .im getting depressed because its almost a year now since then...please enlighten me on this issue. i passed all the exam requirements. i even got my license as reg nurse in illinois ( dec2006)and all ready for us but it seems circumstances does not allow as of now. and worst, i came to know retrogression is in effect...sometimes i have this thought of applying in uk.anyway the only expense that my employer did was to pay for my i140 immigration application....anyone who might come accross my woes...pleease reply. i owe it to you.im really getting more sad each day!!!!!!hmmmmmmmmm.

do you know which centre you i140 was filed with? even if nebraska they are only taking about 6-8 months whereas texas is quicker but you do not have any choice on which cenre. are you sure your agency filed i140? do you have a receipt number?

no good looking at the uk as recent immigration changes have made it hard for non eu nurses to get work permit plus will take you several months to go through the nmc process which will not guarantee job or work permit

you are not alone who is facing this i am on the same boat,mine i140 was filed in Oct 2006 and my case is at Texas center which is comparatively consider faster but still my case has not been approved always counsel myself under certain circumstances we can not do any thing's stay positive

do you know your uscis case number and what service center your petition was filed?

Do you have your case number and following up your case status on your own or does an agency just give you the info?

I know people whose petitions were filed on the same month and their petitions were approved on the 1st half of Jan. 2007 via Texas Service Center.

thanx to all of you guys you replied...anyway...yup im pretty sure my employer did apply for it , infact, i got the receipt no of my case.i do nothing each day but to check on it on the online case status update of uscis. mine was filed in nebraska center. hmmm...what could have gone wrong? im really bluer than blue right now.:(

people are reporting on that thread that it takes an ave. of 6-10 mos for nebraska. i think your case is the longest as of the current.

my i-140 was filed by my agency and they gave me a receipt number by which i usually check my case status on line,as per the Texas centre site current date of processing is nov13 2007.i am hoping by next month my i 140 will possibly approved.thanks for response.

I recommend to actually go to http://www.uscis.gov and input your case number found on the right side of the webpage. I also recommend creating your own case status portfolio and just input your case number and provide your e-mail add. so that they can automatically update you via your e-mail if there are any updates on your case so that you do not have to go in the uscis website every time you want to check on it.

It is not updated regularly. It is only meant as a rough guide. As I said there are those who filed the same month as yours but were approved on Jan 2007.
