Pell grant approved but...

Ok, so I have my RN, ADN and I applied for the Pell Grant and was approved to recieve funds so I can achieve my Bachelor's.

The question is why was my husband denied any funds using the same tax return. He hasn't been to college yet and was hopeful to finally attend.

Can anyone explain why he got denied but I got approved?

I don't understand.

I have to agree that if he hasn't been accepted to school, then it's pretty difficult to see what financial aid he may receive.

You don't receive an award package until you are accepted into a school because it's going to vary by school.

never thought about this before but, my husband and I were both in school together (different majors) and we both got pell grants because we both were accepted ang actually going to class in the same semesters. so it is probabaly because he is not in an actuall program or accepted into the school itself for general eds etc.
