I'm not in Oklahoma but it sounds like you're in a monitoring program. Is that right? If that's what you're dealing with, I (along with many others here) completely understand the feeling of just wanting to be done. These programs are very frustrating and expensive.
Have you checked the "Nurses/Recovery" forum? There's a lot of support there.
I'm an OK peer nurse. It seems pretty overwhelming at first, but you start to get in a routine where it's manageable. You've got to decide for yourself if nursing is where you want to be. I wanted to hand in the towel at first but stuck with it. And I am beyond grateful that I did.
I can say from experience that Oklahoma's program is a walk in the park compared to some other states. I started to transfer to California (as I was living there once I joined OK's program), talk about overwhelming. Their requirements were so much more.
I ended up moving back to OK (just better for myself and my family as well as it would be easier to complete the OK program). I just received my okay to find a job about three weeks ago and should be starting my first nursing job in the program soon. That is not something I would have even been close to doing in California.
I'm here if you need anything! [emoji4]
I agree with RENEERN above. It was overwhelming at first. Now, it is very routine and not much trouble at all. Also, my Probation Monitor here in OR loosened the rope a bit as she got to know me, such as: gladly suspending daily u/a call-in's for a 2 week vay cay, etc. CA clobbered me for the same offense in OR and gave me horrible stips and longer probation. Needless to say I am never going back to work in CA. Get your job where you can count down the months and before you know it you will be done. HEY, I HAVE 4 MONTHS TO GO TO AN UNENCUMBERED LICENSE IN OR!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAHHH! Love & (((((hugs)))))
Sounds like a lot of us going through the same thing. I'm not sure how things are in OK but from what I hear, here in Texas they are HARSH (I'm beginning to find that out myself). If I didn't love being a nurse (26+ years) I would gladly throw in the towel and be a greeter at Walmart or something. Can't be as much stress in THAT job...
just do what I am doing...HANG IN THERE.

Are there any OK peer nurses out there? I'm ready to just hand my license over and turn the page. You have no life for 2 years, and I'm just not ok with it. I want out!
