There's actually a thread in this section called "Pearson Vue Trick was wrong" or something, and I'm pretty sure that's what happened to that poster.

Hard to say whether or not those posts were a hoax or not. All that poster's subsequent posts are about working as an aide so...

Oh, that would be such a nasty thing to do. People really stress out about that one.

OP: for what it's worth, from my personal experience, I've never known anyone who didn't have the trick work for them--good or bad.

A representative from the State Board of Nursing came to speak to my class about the NCLEX and licensing process. According to her, the Pearson Vue trick is always reliable if you get the pop-up that prevents you from re-registering. She said that the only reason that it would proceed to the credit card screen and give a false-negative would be if your testing session had been flagged for a review by the testing board. For example, if you or someone else who was testing during your session was suspected of cheating and Pearson Vue was reviewing the video and audio tapes of your session, you might get the credit card screen, implying that you failed, because your passing result hasn't automatically been released by the system. She stressed that this would be very unusual, and that we should pretty much trust the results of the Pearson Vue trick.

Never a false-positive, but definitely false-negatives do appear.
