Pearson Vue Trick did NOT work for me and I PASSED!

I just wanted to make a post in hopes that this will come up for potential nurses googling about the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT)

I took my NCLEX in January of 2017, and decided to try the PVT so many people swear by. I did NOT get the good pop up, cried cause well obviously it didn't work so figured I had failed. Nope! I passed.

The Pearson Vue Trick does NOT always work. Don't let it trick you!

This is was my second time taking the NCLEX, I failed the first one. It happens! I just picked myself up and studied some more. Passed it the second time with minimum questions. There is so much online help out there! So good luck to everyone!

Hi there, I see there is some conflict on what constitutes the right and wrong way to complete the trick, i watched several videos and looked at several forums and saw that you should get the so called " good pop up" before you do the final submit of payment. How ever I have also seen that people put in the wrong expiration dates and do the final submit of payment and get the " good pop up", but let me just say I did not get the pop up on the first part I described and got a payment declined on one where i entered my cc info with one number change to my security code and expiration date, i was told payment declined, which of course made me think awful things right away, but like another person said it could be just recognizing that you entered the wrong information. I am not willing at this time to risk $200. I was also stupid enough to take my test on a friday, is i guess that means i will be waiting a while to get even the "quick results". This is the worst wait of my life! but I will be sure to let y'all know what happens. I didn't get the good pop up the way a lot of others did before submitting payment, so I'm really hoping that its a good thing that payment way declined. Maybe that is another possibly good pop up.. one can only hope! anyways thanks for this forum y'all! Be safe!

I'm not so sure this PVT is 100% effective either. I do read posts of individuals who have done it and get no pop up and then find out they passed two days later.

I just took NCLEX yesterday (Friday) and did not get the good pop up. I tested at 75 questions with 17 SATA and I'm just now starting to heavily doubt myself...and all because of this silly PVT.

Ive put all correct card info in, I've tried it with incorrect card info, I've gone all the way through to the final submit and I've gone to just the verification page.

I just can't wrap my head around doing 75 questions, all those SATA and I miserably bombed it according to this PVT?!

Im glad to see that some people as recently as 2 months ago are saying PVT didn't work for them and they still passed. Gives me hope to see if my 48 hour results say PASS tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I took my nclex-pn April 10th did the pvt 48hrs post exam and also did not get the good pop up. Just like you I did it the same way my classmates did; while some of them got the good pop up i kept getting the bad one. A week later I got a letter via mail that I passed it!

Everything you wrote tells me that no, you did not do it correctly. I'll make the directions as clear as possible, to clarify and hope to help those who are still confused. You did NOT do it correctly.

The pvt is a game in which you attempt to register for another exam. If, and only if, you have submitted valid card information, pressed submit, then pressed submit AGAIN (twice) to confirm your submission, ONLY then will you get a pop up message that tells you that "another registration cannot be made at this time". That and ONLY that is the so-called good pop up. There is no other. The only bad pop-up isn't a pop up at all: it is confirmation that you have in fact paid $200 for a new registration.

All these people who are talking about getting no pop up at all and then finding out they passed did it wrong. Either you submit the payment and it is declined because you cannot pay for another exam when you have passed this one, or you pay. That's it. The whole story.

When you say you did not get the good pop up, are you saying that you paid $200? If you did not submit payment you did not do it correctly. There is no pop up to get if you do not submit the payment all the way through to the end!

It's not like there is a variety of popups LOL, you either offered the payment and you can't pay because you passed or you pay. No pop up message at all? Then you did not play the game.

I did all the steps yesterday (they may have changed the 'trick', but the directions listed says that you get a pop up BEFORE entering billing info. This was the way it was in 2012 when my husband did the "trick" and was not allowed to register.) and was discouraged as I was directed to the billing page. Well, at 3 am I was listed as current and active on my BON website! WHOOO HOOO! I went on to view my unofficial results and again do the trick.... I was again taken to the page to enter billing/credit card info in. Doesn't matter now, today is a lot better than yesterday!

Hi! I just took my test 6-7-17

shut off at 90 questions

tried the PVT trick with an expired credit card.

Got the card declined, contact bank or use another card.

So according to the trick I failed?

(Tried the trick 48hrs post test)

(In ca. Waiting for results)

probably theyre following the old pvt trick because thats how the old one work before entering card details you get a pop up. you need to clarify thats not how pvt work now they need to enter their card info and do submit then do submit again. thats where the pop up going to take place.

No. Pearson VUE changed its software for its registration program in the summer of 2014. The way it was prior to that changed entirely.

Prior to August 2014 if you were directed to a billing page where you could put in any credit card information that was the Bad Pop-Up. People who did not get directed to the credit card page and instead got a message telling them they could not register, that was the Good Pop Up. After August 2014 everyone, every single person attempting the PVT, gets directed to put in payment information. It is only once the correct payment information is submitted, once you have risked putting the funds through that you find out whether they will take the money or not.

Congratulations on passing.

Probably. Most of the time a card is declined because the registration program wants to charge you for the registration you are attempting to make. After all that is what you are trying to do, register again. Sometimes the card is simply tested for validity, the program will know that the card entered is fake or expired or has the wrong CVC code. In those cases people have passed and the card was declined because they were trying to put one over on Pearson VUE. Not really a good plan.

I can't say to give up all hope because you didn't do the trick correctly, you put in invalid info. Honestly if it were me? I would wait for official results before crying or celebrating. If you put in correct info and it charges you two hundred bucks you still won't know whether you passed or failed until you get official notice. So why bother?

So you never received the message stating "that you have already registered for this exam? I took mine today and never received that message but am seeing your post on how you didn't receive that and still passed. Just wondering if you could shed some light on it for me. So pretty much you didn't have anything pop up?
