Part 1 (the original thread)--
Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?
Poll to take once you have received your response--
Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results
Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:
1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.
2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.
3) click 'register' on the right side.
4) click the 'credit card' link.
5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.
6) enter your username.
7) enter your password.
? click the button.
9) click 'register' on the left side.
10) select your test type.
11) click the button.
12) select your country.
13) click the button.
14) answer the yes/no questions.
15) select your country again.
16) select your state.
17) type in your city.
18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.
19) select your school.
20) select the month and year of your graduation.
21) select your board of nursing.
22) click the button.
Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick
@ sarah shine....I don't know how the PN test works but I have been told that it will shut off @ any number once the computer finds you compitent. I did the PVT too and I am still scared because I won't be ok until I see my name and license # on the BRN.
@adhard...the PVT is said to be able to be done in any state....and as far as I have read people say it is true and it does kinda make sense, I mean why would they let you register again if you passed....but we will see. I got the good pop up too, but not holding my breath... I got 75 questions and not any more than 2 questions on a subject and like 90% of my test was delegation and priority. I have been told that is a good sign...*sigh*
@adhard....sarahshine did the PVT and just got her results and it was true for her...so that might give you some peace of mind...I am still worried...lol
I keep going between relaxed and worried! I keep doing the "trick" waiting to get the bad pop up. I don't know why I keep torturing myself. I don't think I'll be able to completely stop worrying until I see my name on BON!
@adhard....I know I have been doing the PVT since last Thursday and I keep getting the same results. I even kinda tested the "trick" I went on and logged in and registered for the PN test instead of the RN and it took me all the way the confirm payment but then I went and tried for the RN test and I got the pop up...I just so happen to have an LPN program at the same school where I went for RN....so maybe that will give you a little more breathing room. I just want to see my name on the BRN already...:anbd: my results are all I can think about! UGH!!!

Agreed! When did you take your test? Hopefully you'll see your name soon! I probably won't see mine for another 48 hours or so since I just took my test today.

I took mine on 4/7/11... I am in California...I will keep you posted on my results. I checked the BIN today and my name isn't there yet...so a little worried. I'm not sure how long I should wait before I check the BON:idea:

Sounds good. I'm in DE, way on the other side of the country! I know here it takes about 48-72 hours for our status to change from pending to active (I don't know what happens if you fail here, though!) Good luck!
