I'm not familiar with that school, but check their website - http://www.prcc.edu
Most of the LPN programs that I'm familiar with (at the community colleges in my area of the state) are about 1 year long.
From what I hear its a great school, and thank goodness because it is local for me.
I will be applying and taking my PAX next semester. Hoping to start the RN program in Fall of 09. They offer an associates degree with RN at prcc.
After getting all of this done, I am planning to take the BSN through USM online.
I'm in the RN program there now. The PN/LPN is a 3 semester program. I'm not 100% sure but I think you start in the fall and go through the end of the summer. I know they're in class all day, like 9-3. FYI, the RN (ADN) program is 4 semesters, you start either fall or spring, you don't go summers, and class hours are 9-11 MWF, T/TR clinicals.
I didn't attend PRCC...I attended Meridian Community College. However, I live in Wiggins (about 25 miles east of Poplarville) so I usually meet students and nurses who went to PRCC at some point.
Nursing school is challenging...make up your mind that nursing is what you want to do before August. Above all, when you get discouraged (which happens to 99% of us at some point) just remember "this too shall pass".
Good luck!
