PDA/pocket PC and travel nursing

Published

I am interested in purchasing a PDA before I start my first travel assignment later this month. Which PDA or pocket PC and RN friendly programs do you find helpful? What is the difference b/w wi-fi and bluetooth? Would you even recommend using a PDA or pocket PC?

Wife and I have a Ique M5 it is both a pocket pc and a GPS . In case we get lost!! We have a laptop for internet email , etc

I have seen some of the nurses at WHC with the PDAs, but it's up to you. I would say that if you have never been to DC, the GPS navigation system will be the best investment you can make- and save you a million headaches trying to navigate through downtown and all of the construction that is going on right now.

I love my palm and use it every shift. I bought a drug book for it as well as other programs. I find that as a traveler it may take me a day or two to find the reference books in my new spot and they may not be up to date. Having Tabers, a drug book, a lab reference guide, and tons of calculators in my pocket is great.

check out the entire section of this forum dedicated to palms/pdas for ideas and websites. you will find free and purchase ideas.
