Have you taken Bio 201 at PC on the net? What were your experiences? Would you reccommend it? How many hours did you study a night/ what was your grade? Were your instructors providing feedback/ answering questions in a timely manner??
Thanks in advance for any help and insight you can provide! I am really debating between in class and internet... I have a co worker who is taking the summer internet bio so we could potentially be "study buddies".... I just don't know if I can find a sitter to commit to the lengthy classes during the summer.... thank you!! Good luck to all of you!

Not sure what PC is. But i took all of my science courses on at RIO (it all i was able to do with work). There is alot to learn and the course can be challenging but i passed all of them. So it is possible but IMO more challenging than going to class, but if it is all you can do...go for it.

What is the format for the midterm, tests, quizzes, etc... for the BIO 201 online? Do you take them in person in a lab? Are they timed? I am going to take this class online for the Spring semester. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
There were weekly reading assignments and lab activities with a DVD. It was a lot of work, but much better than the Rio Bio 156 class I took.

I took BIO 201 at RioSalado. Each week there was usually:
1. one chapter to read (the first week had more) and
2. a lecture quiz (quiz on the reading) and/or
3. a lab quiz/practical and/or
4. an essay
Weekly Work: There are ungraded lab assignments every week that have all different formats to help you study and there are videos and activities to help you learn as well. All of the quizzes and practicals (longer lab quizzes) are multiple choice that you take at home and some are timed. The lab quizzes/practicals have pictures and diagrams like the ones in the lab manual (the book you buy). I would highly recommend completing the ungraded assignments. The teacher can not see the grade though, so you can just turn it in blank and it will give you the answers.
Midterm/Final: The midterm and final both have the same format. There are 3 sections (2 multiple choice and 1 essay section). The two multiple choice have 40 questions each (no diagrams or pictures). In the essay section, you must write 4 essays from the pool of about 25 possible essay questions that you are given throughout the weeks. These you must go into a testing center for the final and midterm (call to see the closest one to you) and you have a total of about 3 hours to complete the entire thing.
Hope this helps!

Hi! I am looking to take bio 201 online and looking for school right now. I am thinking to take it at PC. I took 156 at Rio salado and we had to write essay every week and it was way to much writing for me, so I am looking for school with something different. What kind home work and lab work you have to do at PC. I learned that I would have to dissect a cat if I decide to take class in person which sears me.
I signed up to take the BIO 201 at PC this semester.

How are the labs for PC online bio201? I am at Rio right now in Bio156, and like my labs so far. I took Bio201 about 10 years ago, so I have to take it over since it has been so long.
I forgot to ask, how are the tests at PC? Where do you take them? How many in-person tests are there? I like Rio, because the Avondale testing center is so close to home for me.
