Hi everyone, this is a thread for the January 2013 PBSC students. I know October is right around the corner, so I am a little frazzled right now. I am preparing for the HESI and have purchased the HESI study guide. Haven't made it to the mandatory information session as yet though. Also I was wondering if the Pro-Calc is a required test for new students as well. I didn't see anything online on testing dates etc for that. Is it similar to the HESI?

Melissa, I'm sorry things didn't work out for the Fall. I haven't taken the HESI yet, so depending on that, I will have either 26.63 or 28.63 points. I emailed Latisha yesterday and she said the cutoff for the evening/weekend program last fall was 27.8 points and I was shocked!! Were they still accepting NLN then or had it switched to HESI?

Wow 27 points for the part time program?? Damn I was thinking of doing that program too guess not.. I guess I am going to start studying for the hesi again and re take it.. It wasn't that hard I made an 86 and was surprised on how basic it was, I just didn't do to good on the chemistry section lol. But if I could get the 10 points on that I would have 28.63 points. Looks like me and you will be in the same boat as far as points go :) And they are no longer taking the NLN just the Hesi.

The information session yesterday was packed! It sounded like a lot of applicants were upset by the recent Chemistry requirement change and according to Ms. Boles, there's nothing they can do but apply next year after taking 1032. For anyone who is interested the cutoff for the June 1st deadline was 25.93 points with the average being around 27.6..Latisha says shoot for the average. I'm starting to get nervous!

I took the hesi for Broward college on June 27th. I know PBSC required the hesi to be taken every 6 months right, well for Broward only 5 parts were required. Is there anyway I can take the other parts the PBSC requires so I can apply before the deadline?

I emailed rhonda boles and she said the cutoff score for the last part time entrance period was 25.21

dani0125, does that mean that chem1020 is no longer accepted?

Chm1020 is fine, they just changed the course number to chm1032. The problem is the students who had chm1045/1046 and were told it was ok to substitute that for 1032.

Aloha everyone! My names Britt, I applied for the Fall 2012 start and did not get in (I didn't expect to since I scored low on the HESI). So I am retaking my Hesi in Sept to try for the Oct.1st deadline! Anyone else taking the HESI on Sept.6 want to start a study group? I am nervous about taking it again although I know what to expect this time around & Im not 9months pregnant lol. :)

Hey Britt, I remember you from the fall 2012 forum. I hear there are HESI study sessions or something like that at PBSC now. I will try to post the link. Do you have the study book?

It's on fridays from 1-3 in bldg tc room 414 I believe. This begins on the 24th! Space is limited so you have to sign up. This is posted on their facebook page if you want to check it out. Definitely verify that room number...that was my memory talking so I hope that was right lol. Good luck everyone:)
