PBSC Nursing Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

If I don't keep talking about it I might not apply again :nurse:. Starting this thread for PBSC Nursing Spring of 2019. Let's keep the conversation going.

The application deadline has been changed this year. It is September 15th not October 1st. They are allowing a re-take of the HESI exam after 30 instead of 60 days currently (and only for this application cycle) in order to accommodate the change. Going forward this will be the regular date and no more allowances to the HESI re-takes will be given after the application deadline of 9/15/18.

Took the HESI last May and I failed, I'm currently studying to go back next month I'm praying I will pass this time.... did u review anything at all?

A little. I hadn't taken some of the courses that were being tested, so, I bought a few review books to read. Hadn't done any math since Algebra 1/College Math in 1979... so, I went to the math lab to get a little tutoring on conversion and algebra. Never took biology (even in HS.. back then it was just called 9th grade science in the '70's!). Hadn't yet taken A&P 2 or Micro. I passed. I only took it once I wasn't serious about studying too much. Really just wanted to familiarize myself with the test and had planned to take it 2 more times, but then I passed 1st time. Barely. But, it's fine. I don't need the points, just needed to pass. You should study whatever you did worst on.

Do you know if you are allowed to take it more than 3 times in a year due to this change for this application cycle?

Hi everyone! Just took the Hesi and now have my total points. I will be applying with 25.67 points. What is everyone else applying with?

I also want to add that there is a Facebook group for nursing applicants called: Palm Beach State Nursing Applicants

Hi Dannimarie93~

I am applying with 27.26 points. Points aren't my problem... $$ is my problem! But, I just went through all the course sequencing for the P/T program costs and I can't figure out how the school comes up with $8,000+. I already took Nur Pharm, so, that's one course I won't be paying for this time around, but, still... tuition (minus that class) is only around $4,900. I was told it costs approx. another $1,500 for the books (MUST buy all up front), uniform, fingerprinting, background check, physical, etc. So... can anyone tell me what I'm missing here? Thanks!

I also want to add that there is a Facebook group for nursing applicants called: Palm Beach State Nursing Applicants

Dannimarie93 is that FB group for all applicants, P/T and F/T?

I am just confused about the new HESI point system. If I got a 94.57 does that mean I will get 9.45 points? I haven't been to the information session yet, I'm going to the on August 16th.

Whats the name of the facebook group for spring 2019?

They said application for the Part time Jan 2019 program is due October 1st? Or the Full time? I thought the website said September 15th so I'm confused.

I'm going to the info session next week, but I still haven't taken the HESI yet. Trying to figure out if I still have time.

I'm having a baby in November, so ideally I want to start out doing the PT program

The application is due on September 14th for those wanting to start Spring 2019
