PBSC Fall 2012 hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone!! I probably am jumping the gun by posting this already but I'm too excited and just can't believe I'm finishing up my last semester of pre reqs for the program. I take my HESI on Feb 16th. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone has also taken the hesi and what would be the best study guide to get. Here's to hoping for a great fall!!! :D

Specializes in MSN, FNP-BC.

IF.... I get in I just know I want to take skills lab on Friday from 9-11am.. The other ones seem like u have to take them on specific days. Like clinical has to be M&Tues. And lecture has to be Wed&Thurs. Hope we all get in!!!!!

I was looking at Friday too, but I am wondering if I would want that day to breathe?? I have no idea. It might be better to do it on Friday so I have nothing else to worry about. Hmmm...

I'm trying to stay positive about the points because mine aren't as high as I would have like. But, I havent looked at the schedule yet. I'll probably do that today though. I have to take Pharm because I was unable to take it this summer. I was thinking of doing early clinicials as well though.

I didn't know you had to take a CHM lab for nursing??? It's wasn't required before but maybe that changed...EVERYONE I WAS THINKING...***WE ARE ALL KINDA CLOSE NOW, HAVING THE SAME HOPES AND DREAMS...WE SHOULD TRY AND GET TOGETHER ALL OF US SOMEWHERE TO CELEBRATE AND GET TO KNOW EACHOTHER BETTER(after all we will need each other for study groups)....just a thought :-) good luck everyone!!!

When I took my CHM class, a lab was required to take it so I took a lab in addition to the class. So, I'm not sure about that but I'm sure MJ will fill you in. I agree 100% though. Once we find out the news, we should get together and celebrate. It would definitely be a good way to form study groups. Yes, good luck everyone. To ease some people's minds, I was thinking about how 23.6 was considered too low. Well if we go off of last semester's cut-of of 24.57, that is 0.97 points lower. So maybe the cut-off is still around the same. Just keep the faith everyone and try to enjoy your weekends!

It is not required for nursing. It is required for the bachelors. Long story short... Nursing is only 8 credits first semester and I have to have 12 or I am not going to survive. Its either that or get a full time job. The Veterans Administration pays for my classes as well as paying me rent. If I do not have a full time schedule I am probably going to lose about 1000 a month

So I will be taking a 3 credit class- SPN1120 and a one credit class CHM1032L. That will give me a full time schedule.

I hate having to do all of that but I have two kids and rent to pay. As well as a TON of other bills. I just can't afford to do it any other way. Even with financial aid...

Oh and I definitely agree. If I get in, I am down for meeting up with everyone to celebrate!! Especially since we have over 600 posts of being nervous and anxious together;)

I thought Bc you were in a limited access program that states "full time" even if the credits don't march up it's still considered full time by financial aid status or am I wrong?

PS: I am soooooooooooooooooo tired of this waiting!!!!! Sorry I had to vent

It's not considered full time by financial aid or my G.I. Bill! My friend was in nursing and she had a chunk taken out of her financial aid because she wasn't full time.

No need to apologize. We all understand how you feel.
