Hi, is there anyone who works or knows a nurse who works in Mississippi area, I'm thinking of relocating and would like to know how much they pay for LPN's and RN's... Any advice would be greatly appreciated, any at all. Thx in advance!!!!

I live on the gulf coast and the RN's here start off at around 20 right out of school. I'm not sure about LPN's though. It will prob vary a little at each place but thats the norm.

Not a lot... CNAs in northern states make more than some starting RNs. It also HIGHLY depends on where you work (hospital, LTC, Dr. Office).

At the hospital I worked at, 5 years ago (also on Gulf Coast), LPNs started at $11.50, RNs started out at $17. It has gotten a little better, but NOT nearly as high as salary.com says... UNLESS you go agency.

In the Jackson & Meridian area new graduate RNs start out at around $18.50-$20/ hour base pay in the hospital area. And also depending on if you have a bachelors or any certifications such as ACLS or PALS

Thx a million.

I work in a hospital on the gulf coast and my base pay for 8 years experience is $27.12/hr. BSN degree and PALS ACLS certifications.
