Pay and jobs in Vermont

U.S.A. Vermont

Published

I have heard from many people that it is impossible for anyone to live in Vermont if you aren't wealthy. I find it hard to believe there are no jobs in VT. BTW, I lived there for 2 years as a child. I was doing a search on nursing jobs in VT and I found some that paid $20/hr or more. Not agency work either. Is that right? I am exploring all of my options after nursing school because I am desperate to escape :angryfire I mean Phoenix. So how are the jobs there? The pay and the houses? I have only a few requirements from a location. One of the most important is that I have a very good chance of waking up on Christmas morning and seeing snow. Two is that the leaves turn bright colors in the fall. And that my kids have good schools nearby, can be private. And I don't like big cities, which I don't think Vermont has many, if any, of.

Any one?

Thanks Nancy Nurse 07.:roll So Burlington is very pet friendly!!!!!! I'm glad to hear about that. I will definately put Burlington on my vacation list so I can go and check it out for the future.

you can download their application form by going to ncsbn site and locating for the vermont state board of nursing or you can just type the vermont state board of nursing in the search engine...

Can anybody here tell me if there are filipino nurses in vermont? Is vermont in need of nurses? I applied to vermont for my nclex...

Vermont sounds wonderful. However, I have heard that Vermont is not pet friendly and that it is almost impossible to find any apartments that allow pets? Is this true? Thanks.

Apartments allowing pets especially dogs could be difficult - at least in southern vermont.

I grew up in Vermont, left for 14 years and now am back. Fletcher Allen Health Care starts new grads in the ballpark of $22.00 an hours. The schools in Vermont are #1, seasons are wonderful and it is extremely pet friendly. I have lived in many different places and Vermont is not anymore expensive than anywhere else. Burlington is a small and vibrant city situated on Lake Champlain. The university is next door and is a top notch research university. I think you would love it here.

Hi there! Would they hire fresh graduates from outside of the US? I am from the Philippines. I have yet to sit for my cgfns and nclex. I have already sent my application to the vermont state board of nursing for my nclex.

Hi! I already pass the NCLEX in Vermont but Im still waiting for my local license here in the Philippines. Is there any chance that anyone of you guys who works already in Vermont can help me give an idea if iI can find hospitals there that can help me to get a job. thank you and more power..

Having lived in SE Vt all my life, I find rents have become outrageous in comparison to wages especially if you are single and finding a rental allowing pets is challenging. This is common to the immediate tri-state region. Unless you you live in subsidized housing, it seems that rents are gauged for 2 incomes. I've found that wages are better by at least $4.00 an hour in neighboring NH and MA. Consequently, while I live in VT which I love, I work in NH.

hi may i know from you if you sent to Vermont BRN CHED certification and course description?

Have you considered northern Vermont? :balloons:

Why not consider the mountains of North Carolina. The weather is much like you want .... we get snow in the winter and have beautiful leaves in the fall. A drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway would certainly convince you if you visited in the fall. Also, the schools here are some of the best in the country. Property costs are pretty reasonable still, unless you decide to move to a more visitor friendly part of the mountains (not naming any names). It is worth exploring and the wages for RN's are decent. Good luck.

Could you name any particular places in North Carolina?
