Pay for Dialysis PCTs vs. Regular PCTs

What is the pay for dialysis PCTs like? Do they get paid more than "regular" PCTs? If so, why?

hello highnursinggoals,

i have posted a few threads asking the same thing and some other questions regarding pcts in dialysis, but they went unanswered :crying2:. i have an interview in about 10 hours for fresenius in chicago. i have noooo pct experience other than working as a cna some years ago and many biology credits (prenursing school). i have read good and not-so-good things about the company, but i'm ready for the experience (or i think i am :uhoh3:), either way, i hope that i get hired and that i'm able to catch on quicker than expected -it looks like a lot of work from what i've read and viewed on youtube :). i will let you know how the interview went. i mean, not to sound cocky, but i think i got the job -after all, they're interviewing me based on my resume knowing that i have no prior or recent experience in health care. are you working in dialysis as a pct yet? if so, tell me all about it please :).

i think it depends on where you work, but i really don't know. where i live (bay area, ca) you can work as a CNA in a hospital/medical center after a year of experience. i believe these jobs pay 14-18 per hour. dialysis tech's in my area pay 16-18 an hour, depending what part of the bay area you work in. jobs closer to san fransisco always pay more, because of the higher cost of living. hope this helps!!!
