All Nurses have to do it; orient the patient to his/her surroundings, educate how to work the bed, TV, air conditioner, and, oh yes, that doggone thing called a patient call light. It's a call LIGHT not a bell. Sooo, I think all patients should be instructed to PUSH the button, not RING the bell and the words, "patient call bell", should be removed from every dictionary on the face of the earth. LOL! Have you ever had the urge to drop kick the call button out of a hospital window?
