Past mistakes...Do I have a chance to get into CRNA school

I am having pre-application anxiety. I have an ADN, almost finished with my BSN. However, at the college I attended for my ADN program, I changed majors four times, dropped classes, and stopped and started school multiple times. It took me about 4 years to get my crap together and start my ADN program. I did graduate with a 3.5 GPA from this university and got almost all A's in my nursing program. I currently have a 3.8 in my BSN program. I am afraid when I send in my transcripts, colleges will be scared away by my first transcripts. Do I have a chance? I am afraid to get my hopes up. I have met all other requirements.

I understand your anxiety, but the fact that you got your act together will be more impressive to them in the big picture. If your science grades are good and you get good ICU experience you should have no problem. Nobody has a perfect application, if you didn't have this to answer to you would have something else to be anxious over.

If your early transcripts bring your overall GPA down considerably you may want to consider taking some graduate level courses to improve the GPA and show them that you are a serious student now. If you don't get accepted the first time don't throw in the towel, programs generally reward persistence unless there is something seriously wrong with your application or character. Sell yourself in the interview and make that black mark on your record a positive.

My earlier transcripts are included in the 3.5 GPA from my ADN program...it was all the same university. I just am embarrassed about the fact I dropped a lot of classes and changed majors multiple times. I pulled it together in the end.

You have join the majority of student that applied to graduate program. When I went on my interview the Program Director and one of the CRNA told me they too had bad grades and it show that you have matured in character. One person told that too good of a grade sometimes show that you do not have any activitiess in your life other that school and you must be a well rounded applicant. Do not be discourage, I am interviewing right now and I will be in CRNA for the upcoming class. Good Luck
