Passing Answers on Online Mandatory ED

We get so much mandatory ed theses days! The nurses in our unit pass around the answers. Our manager really doesn't care, she just wants to make sure requirements are met.

Some of the ed is helpful, but I have to say that the vast majority of it is part of the regulation overkill that is currently drowning healthcare. I swear some of these power points we are required to view look like someone's high school or college project. It seems like desk jockeys are, once again, trying to save the world with yet another one-sized fits all formulated checklist that we ignorant nurses need an online ed course to understand.

I'd like to see a mandatory inservice informing us of the value of fewer patients per nurse for once.

We usually post the answers in the break room. Our manager pretends to care- then copies our answers cause she has to do them too. Here too it's gotten out of hand. We asked for more education, hoping for hands on demos of things we don't do often. Instead we got powerpoints, policies to read, and multiple choice quiz sheets.

The management really just want to have "proof" of your competency on file....so they can show it to the JC and blame you when you get ti wrong.
