I failed my first attempt, I only did Kaplan, which didn't help me. I was devastated when I saw FAIL after I paid the 48 hour quick results. I was depressed for a little bit and started praying and asking God for direction.
_New Strategy_
I went on forums to search for a new plan. I also prayed daily as to what and how God wanted me study.
*I purchased the Hurst review, which was good on content. I can say Hurst opened that door to understanding the content and making it stick.
*Second I registered for the free two week NCLEX RN Passpoint and did 50 to 300 Exam questions per day. Went over what I got wrong and why. Then I reviewed the Hurst book over and over again.
*Last I discovered UWorld and glad I did because it made me really think critically and understood why my answer was wrong or right, it also had thorough explanations with excellent pictures. Oh how I loved their pictures and charts. Their explanation's was the key to my understanding. I extended my free week trial to another week, which was only $20.
* I was able to do complete 4 Hurst Q exams. I wanted to try all exams! instead of just use one resource. Passpoint was good on content and elevation of question like NCLEX. I reached a level 8 on the exams not quizzes. Hurst exams were more psych based but still a good review as it connected with the book.
*UWORLD was the icing on the cake, I did UWORLD exams 2 weeks before my exam and passed the Nclex with 87 questions.
*I like UWORLD because of the abundance of STATA question it was very similar to the PDA Lacharty book (which I only did five chapters on). The questions will prepare you to think higher then the NCLEX exam
*Overall I did around 3500 questions in 2.5 months. Among all programs, I believe UWORLD helped me the most, it made me more confident due their abundance of STATA questions.
*UWORLD I would give two thumbs up, if you go over your content and just do UWORLD you will succeed. If you're poor on content do Hurst and try passpoint (two free week trial) and after you build your content/remembering the key things then do UWORLD.
*I believe you can still pass with UWORLD and a content based resource.
Hurst scores: 77/125, 76/125, 84/125 and 76/125
Nclex Passpoint: reached a level 8 on all my exams except for the first one which was a level 7, I didn't do the mini quizzes.
UWORLD scored 56-64% on the tutor mode and some on exam mode depending on the subjects. If you score around 60ish your good!!!
I'm a nervous test taker so I wanted to make sure I over studied so that I can answer the questions with confidence. In the exam, I had snacks, took my time and on my break went to the bathroom to stretch, jump around a bit which bought back the blood to my brain. I yelled a lil bit to relieve some frustrations…lol and to wake myself up, because your eyes and brain can get tired. Ate some candy and drank some water and got back in the game and finished with 87 questions and PASSED!!!
UWORLD posts helped me stay in the NCLEX hunger games. I studied between 8-10 hours a day as if I was working because like I said I wanted to over study due to my test anxiety.

Hi! I recently took my NCLEX as well. I used UWORLD and Kaplan also together with Hurst Videos. My computer shut off with 76 questions and I really felt good about my exam. I tried PVT an hour after my exam, that night, 24 hrs after and about 50ish hrs after and got a good pop up ever since. Usually, California posts the name of those lucky test takers on CA breeze within 72 hours, but I cant still find my name there. I wrote this to see if anybody is at the same boat like me. California doesn't have quick results.
I'm in Florida and did the quick results but yeah I also went to the Florida board of Nursing website and typed my name and didn't see anything. Its only been 48 hours since I took my test. I would call them to see what is going on.

Sorry to hear that, yes I saw my name on the FBON website. Keep trying, did you eventually pass? if not yet, then maybe use UWORLD and HURST.
