Passed NCLEX First Try!

Hello, I have been a follower of this forum since 2012 when my fellow classmates and I were told that the CRNE was no longer the RN license exam in Canada and by 2015 the year we were to graduate we would be writing the NCLEX exam. I had no idea what this exam was so I decided to research it as soon as I found out. Needless to say, I was pretty terrified. It seemed so different and hard compared to what we had been taught. As I mentioned before we were told about this change in 2012. My school however, made no efforts to until 3 months before graduation to prepare us for the NCLEX. I was not pleased. They provided us with 3 HESI Practice exams. I did poorly on all of them and I was not surprised because there were terms I had never heard of before for example a UAP here in Canada is called either a CCA, PSW or CTA. I am glad I got a brief introduction to NCLEX style questions but I was still nervous and felt my school really unprepared us.

This forum helped me tremendously. I would read every passing and failing post to gather whatever tips and information I could that would help me be sucessful on the NCLEX my first time. I kind of went overboard with the study materials and I definitely overprepared but I kept saying to myself I would rather overprepare then feel like I could have done more. I also had a terrific job on the line that I did not want to lose. I started studying beginning of may and took my exam end of July. I know 3 months may seem long and excessive for some people but I know how I am and how I learn and I knew I would need at least 3 months to go over everything. And I am very glad I did.

I bought the Saunders book, PDA LaCharity book, Kaplan Test Taking Strategies, Lippincott Alternate Format, HURST Review, NCSBN, NCLEX Mastery App, NCSBN Medication App, 35 pg AN study guide and howtopassnclex 97 pg study guide. I know it's a lot of material. I used them all except for Saunders and Kaplan. I completed about 900 questions from NCSBN, finished the entire NCLEX Mastery App, read the 97 pg study guide 5 times, did 100 pages from the alternate format book and read the 35 pg study guide the day before my exam I mainly focused on infection control and I am so glad I did cause I had a TON of infection control questions.

I know this is a long post but I wanted to bring some encouragement and hope to those who are studying, testing soon or retesting that you can do it. I was not the most academic student I mainly got Bs and a few Cs and I passed this exam my first attempt. Again I know myself and I knew that I would need to take time in order to conquer this beast. Also if you are someone of faith whatever that may be use that to guide and help you. I always prayed before I studied, during and after. I prayed before the exam, during and after. I prayed a lot. I told myself that I have done all that I can and God will do the rest and he did. He's blessed me so much in life. Getting into nursing school, graduating, passing the NCLEX and now working in Cardiology ICU which was what I always wanted. I hope this helps someone! If you could make it through nursing school you can make it through this. It's just another hurdle in your life that you need to overcome and you will.

and is there any way i can get 95 pg study guide from u

Hey, I did about 4000+ questions. I didn't really keep count. And I'm sorry I don't want to give out the study guide. The person who created it put a lot of work into it and I thought it helped me. I think they deserve the amount they are asking for. Here's the link for the study guide

thank you, I didnt know you payed for it. I thought it was like 36 pg study guide on AN website
