Passed the LVN, now what?!

Published

Hi everyone,

I've recently passed my NCLEX LVN in California. Right now, I still don't know what to do next. Should I take any certification classes to boost my application as an LVN (i.e. Phlebotomy, BLS, IV Therapy)?

Also, I am thinking of taking a bridge course to RN. Do you have any suggestions on which schools to consider applying? Are there any schools online? I live in LA County.

Thank you! :)

At this point, you should focus on the extras that will help you find employment, such as BLS and IV/blood withdrawal certification. As a new grad LVN in LA County's brutal job market, you need whatever edge you can get. Good luck to you.

I got IV/blood withdrawl, and renewed my BLS. I'm also bridging in January. I actually found the school commitment hindered me a bit in my job search. I live in norcal, so jobs are a bit easier to come by (not by much). I can't help you with schools but I know there are a bevy in socal. It's a little more slim pickings in my part of California.
